LOGO
CONTEST - Calling all illustrators!! Submit your ideas
by 3/15
Happy Nearly Spring! A time for new beginnings, new writing
ideas, cleaning (well, maybe) and other changes! We are looking
to change and feature our own region logo. We would love your
ideas!!!
SCBWI has its own logo as seen in the masthead for this
newsletter (exluding photo.) But we need one to really capture
the spirit, beauty and creativity of writing and illustrating
children's literature from us around the Bay! Our region
is across the Golden Gate, across the Bay Bridge and across
the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
Have fun and enjoy the colors of spring
in your writing and illustrating adventures!

Colette
Weil Parrinello, assistant regional advisor

Kittridge
Writers' Retreats
Our first Kittridge Retreat at Green Gulch Zen Center was
quite an engine starter for attendees. From critiquing, editing,
new starts, new endings, to new submission ideas. Everyone
seemed to enjoy the rain, walks, vegetarian meals, mud and
time to focus on writing and illustrating. See Retreat
Moments. Our group pictures do not show all
the 16 writers and illustrators that attended.
