Judy Wheeler and Bob Ditter
of Towne Center Books
"Behind the Books:What will it take to get your
book into their store"
|
Judy
and Bob have over 28 years experience as independent booksellers.
Judy reveals the story behind the children's book selection at her
successful store - what she buys and why.
Bob reveals the selling process from a sales rep's point of view -
which books does he push and how. |
|

A thriving independent bookstore at 555 Main
Street in downtown Pleasanton, with a busy calendar of author events.
Don't have a published book yet? No worries, this
is a fun presentation aimed at anyone interested in the world of
children's book selling and promotion.
|
Judy will share
the specific things she looks for in a children's book, the role sales,
marketing, and trends play in promotion, and the types of promotions
she finds most effective.
Bob will share the factors that go into
selling a children's book to the independent book market. He works
as a freelance rep with Candlewick Press, Kids Can Press, Usborne,
Children's Book Press/Franklin Watts, and Sleeping Bear Press. He'll
cover what's selling now and why, and how the book rep industry has
changed with the current economic downturn. |
