Online Critique Group
If you have a manuscript that needs a reader, this group will provide
not only one, but six readers. We'll share our works in an online
environment that is nurturing, insightful, and analytical.
The small size of the group - limited to six participants - will
allow us to go in depth on each manuscript. Furthermore, we'll share
manuscripts by e-mail before the session so that everyone will have
a chance to read, consider, and prepare comments on each manuscript.
At each meeting, two manuscripts will be critiqued. We will critique
the first manuscript for 45 minutes, with each participant speaking
for about 5 minutes. The facilitator goes last. During the critiquing,
the author listens to the critiques and takes notes. The author has
a chance to respond to the critiques and get the last word after the
facilitator gives her critique.
We'll then take time for a discussion or for a few words from the
facilitator. The process starts again on the second manuscript. At
subsequent meetings of the group, we'll work on the next two manuscripts,
then the final two. You'll read a total of five manuscripts (plus
your own, if you want to re-read it) during the group.
